Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data Whooph collects, why, and the choices you have. Whooph only handles the data it needs to be your dating assistant. We never sell your data and we do not show ads.

1. Data we collect

Account data — an anonymous device identifier (no email or password is required), and the first name and optional profile photo you provide.
Dating profile (optional) — details you choose to share so the assistant can write in your voice, such as age, city, gender, job, interests, and what you are looking for.
Connected messaging accounts — the Telegram or WhatsApp account you connect, including its phone number and the session needed to keep it connected.
Conversations — only the conversations you choose to import or activate, including messages and media (photos, videos, voice notes, files) exchanged in them.
Generated content — profiles, summaries, and reply suggestions created by the assistant from your conversations.
Device data — a push notification token, app version, and basic technical logs used to keep the Service running.
Location (optional) — only if you grant permission, to suggest nearby meeting places. You can revoke it at any time in your phone settings.
Camera, photos, microphone (optional) — only when you use them to scan a login QR code, attach media, or record a voice message.

2. How we use it

To show your conversations in one place, build profiles of your matches, suggest and (if you enable it) send replies, send you the notifications you asked for, and keep the Service secure and working. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling unrelated to the Service.

3. People you talk to

Your conversations contain information about other people. Whooph processes it only on your behalf, to help you manage your own conversations. Only use Whooph with people who would reasonably expect you to reply personally, and do not import conversations you are not entitled to share.

4. AI processing

To generate profiles, summaries, and replies, relevant conversation text is sent to our AI provider solely to produce that result. It is not used to train third-party AI models.

5. Service providers

We share data only with providers that help us run the Service, under agreements that limit their use of it:

AI provider — generating suggestions, profiles, and summaries;
Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service — delivering notifications;
Telegram and WhatsApp — sending and receiving your messages through the accounts you connect;
Giphy — GIF search when you use it;
Google Maps — displaying shared locations;
our hosting provider — storing data on secured servers in the European Union.

We may also disclose data if required by law.

6. Storage, security, and retention

Data is stored on secured servers and protected in transit with TLS. Access is limited to operating the Service. We keep your data while your account is active. When you disconnect a messaging account or delete your data, it is removed from our systems, except where the law requires us to keep it.

7. Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data, and object to or restrict its processing. You can disconnect a messaging account or delete your data at any time from the app, or by contacting us. If you are in the European Union, you can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Children

Whooph is for adults only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the Service, contact us and we will delete the account.

9. Changes

We may update this Policy. If the changes are significant, we will notify you in the app. The date at the top shows the latest version.
